Lisa Engel, MD, and her family moved from Houston to Tallahassee in the summer of 2021. From August 2020 until June 2021, she worked as a Hospitalist and Clinical Associate Professor with the University of Texas Health’s McGovern Medical School. She received her board certification in 2022.
Dr. Engel attended medical school here at FSU; however, she began her collegiate years as a Florida Gator. She earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Florida in 2008. After completing her undergraduate studies, she moved to Tampa to study molecular medicine. She graduated with her Master of Science from the University of South Florida in 2011. The following year, she came to Tallahassee to pursue her medical doctorate. She served as a Curriculum Management Information Technology Researcher for the FSU College of Medicine for her first three years of medical school. She also received an FSU Mission Scholarship and a Summer Research Fellowship.
Dr. Engel graduated from the FSU College of Medicine in 2016. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology with Orlando Health. Between 2019 and 2020, she was their Academic Chief Resident for obstetrics and gynecology.
Dr. Engel is married to Dr. Adam J. Engel, a radiologist and fellow FSU graduate. They are the proud parents of twin girls. In her free time, Dr. Engel enjoys cooking, baking (and eating her creations), traveling, and playing with her English Springer Spaniel. Dr. Engel is accepting new patients for gynecology and obstetrics.
